Whimcade is a place to wish playful, original browser games into existence. To keep the arcade fun for everyone, some wishes get declined and some games get removed. This page explains how that works.
1. What gets declined at submission
- Franchise and trademark clones โ wishes that ask for someone else's game or characters ("make me Mario", "a Pokรฉmon battler"). Make something new instead; "a plumber who jumps on turtles" is still a clone.
- Sexual or explicit content โ Whimcade is an all-ages arcade.
Declined wishes don't count against your free builds, and you can rewrite and resubmit.
2. What the build agent refuses
Games are created by an AI build agent with its own safety judgment. Even if a wish passes submission screening, the agent may refuse or redirect wishes that involve hate or harassment, graphic violence or gore, self-harm, illegal activity, malware-like behavior, or deceptive content. If a build fails for this reason, your game's status page says so.
3. Published games
Every game in the public arcade carries a moderation status, and we review reports. We may unlist or remove games that slipped through screening, that target or harass people, or that turn out to violate the Terms of Service. Repeated attempts to get prohibited content built may result in losing access to Whimcade.
4. Reporting a game
See something in the arcade that shouldn't be there? Email contact@whimcade.com with a link to the game and what's wrong. An in-page report button is on the way; until then, email reports go to a human.
5. Appeals
If your wish was declined or your game was removed and you think we got it wrong, reply from the email you used on the wish to contact@whimcade.com and we'll take a second look.
